I highly recommend Freshfields. My eldest horse Alpha has been there now for a month and the difference in her is remarkable. She has gained weight, made a new best friend and is clearly very happy. Sally and Lauren are lovely and care for the horses like they are their own. I was very nervous about moving Alpha somewhere new at her age (27) and trusting her care to someone other than me but I need not have worried. I feel lucky to have found Freshfields and I know Alpha is going to love every minute of her retirement in such a haven of peace and tranquility.

I cannot recommend Fresh Fields highly enough!!! The moment Snip arrived he seemed relaxed and happy. All the horses at Fresh Fields are calm, happy and at one with the world. Sally and Lauren made both of us feel so welcome. It is quite evident that the yard is run extremely well with care and consideration for the horses welfare at the top of the list. Thank you both, I can now relax knowing that Snip is in very good hands.

Freshfields is a little piece of horsey heaven. I retired my American Quarter Horse at freshfields and I can honestly say he has never been happier. Sally and Loren take very good care of all of the horses and ponies. I would not hesitate to recommend Freshfields to anyone.

My homebred pony Amber has been at Freshfields for a few years now. Sally and the team genuinely care about her health and wellbeing and do all they can to make sure she is happy and healthy. I get regular updates and photos, which is very reassuring as an owner. Care is individualised too. I'd thoroughly recommend Freshfields to anyone thinking of handing over the reins. Thank you to the team for your care and expertise!

My elder horse spent the last 12 years of his life in contented leisure at Freshfields Equine Retirement Home. He was so well looked after I couldn't have been happier.
I have total confidence in the caring expertise available, so much so that my younger horse has now retired here and is completely happy to be spending the days in the spacious fields with his friends.

Raffles has lived at Freshfields since December 2017 after being moved from another retirement home that didn’t deliver the service that was paid for and Raffles became very withdrawn. I was understandably eager to find him a forever home from home.
He settled in really quickly and his eyes showed me he was happy straight way. Sally & Lauren are kind and genuinely gentle with the horses and this shows. Sally also retains staff in an industry where staff turnover is high. She values her staff. Lauren, who’s been there since before Raffles arrived is his surrogate mummy giving him love and affection every day when he’s checked over.
We live only 20 minutes from the yard and Sally & Lauren are always happy for me to ‘pop in’ unannounced. I also get WhatsApp messages with photos or videos of my fur baby with updates.
The livery package has always been flexible, meeting the needs of the horse. It now suits Raffles to live out in a herd on acres and acres of land and come in for respite in the colder months. As a result of keeping mobile his arthritis is manageable. The stable block is always spotlessly clean with lovely beds and premium quality hay. Raffles, who lives for food, loves the big haynets and, now living out, the unlimited big hay bales in the pasture during the colder months. In summer there is always plenty of grass for those that need it.
In summer months they apply sunscreen and flyspray and are happy to put fly masks on. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
I have no hesitation in recommending Freshfields.

My old man has been here for a few years now. Sally and her team have taken amazing care of him, provided regular updates and given him plenty of kisses and hugs for me whilst I can't get there.

If I was a horse I'd love to retire there - couldn't wish for better care in your twilight years!

Never visited such a calm yard they take time to understand every horse and treat them as individuals.
